Colorado Gives Day, an initiative to increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving returns in 2013. In addition to fundraising, Colorado Gives Day raises awareness of the state’s nonprofit sector and educates communities about the benefits of online giving.
The initiative encourages donations to a non-profit of your choice, and provides the opportunity to search for specific charities, find organizations that address an issue that you feel strongly about, or to find non-profits in your local area. You can search and learn more at coloradogives.org.
Colorado Gives Day 2013 will take place during a 24-hour period on Tuesday, December 10th, 2013. Community First Foundation and FirstBank have partnered on this initiative since inception three years ago, distributing $8.7 million to Colorado nonprofits in 2010, $12.8 million in 2011 and $15.7 million in 2012.
Once again, credit card and processing fees will be covered by Community First Foundation, FirstBank and other sponsors to ensure 100 percent of Colorado Gives Day donations go directly to nonprofit organizations.
Last year, 95 percent of nonprofits received a donation from a returning donor on Colorado Gives Day. For more Colorado Gives Day 2012 statistics and year-over-year comparisons, please visit the Colorado Gives Day 2012 Giving Report.
