Jack White is planning to spend this year's Record Store Day earning a spot in the record books.
The rocker says he's going to record, press, and sell a new single in a matter of hours for what he's calling the "world's fastest released record" in the history of mankind.
White is scheduled to take the stage at his Third Man Records storefront in Nashville on the morning of April 19th to perform the title track from his upcoming solo album, Lazaretto.
He'll cut the track directly to acetate, and then have it rushed to United Record Pressing, which will immediately start making 45s. The goods will then go back to the store to be sold to the waiting fans an estimated five hours after the initial performance.
White is offering a limited amount of tickets to witness the feat in person at ThirdManRecords.com.
